BTG acquires market leading products for papermaking process

Pulp & Paper Technology has acquired a majority share of Muetek Analytic
GmbH of Germany. Muetek is the market leader in wet end laboratory and
on-line charge measurement and the acquisition extends BTG's product offering.
The increasing variety of paper grades available and more stringent quality
demands mean that paper-makers need to develop new technologies and measuring
equipment for the main processes of wet end and dry end. The acquisition
of Muetek means that BTG is now a technological leader in the area of
"wet end solutions" and leads the way in the measurement of consistency,
retention, drainage, coating colour and kappa number, as well as in the
field of residual chemical, charge and gas content analysis.
