Microscan helps to reduce waste

Microscan's latest bar code scanners, the MS-3 series, enable customers to drive down material costs and reduce wastage whilst meeting demanding space and budget requirements. At 1,000 decodes per second and a scan angle of 70 degrees, the MS-3 laser achieves the widest scan width and highest scan speed for any embedded compact bar code scanner. Measuring just 45mm square by 22mm tall, the MS-3 series scanners can be easily mounted onto robotic equipment or embedded into machine instrumentation. The scanner can be used for product tracking in manufacture and packaging applications, ensuring product integrity and reducing reject rates and thus wastage.

Applications for the MS-3 also include the life sciences industry, where it is embedded into instruments used in clinical laboratories. Laboratories, like hospitals, pay a premium for the disposal of their bio-hazardous waste. By streamlining laboratory operations and increasing production accuracy, the MS-3 helps reduce mistakes that contaminate specimens, thus reducing the amount of unnecessary bio-hazardous waste created by clinical laboratories.
