PANalytical is in its element!

Land and water contamination is an environmentally-sensitive issue and subject to increasingly stringent legislation. Toxic chemicals, in particular heavy metals, pose a particular health risk, and can be found in everyday products such as household goods, electronic equipment and food. Often hazardous elements enter products during manufacture, bringing a need for instruments which can analyse extremely low levels of hazardous elements during the production process. Whether it is the disposal of household refuse, the use of fertilizers in agriculture or the reclamation of contaminated land, environmental protection requires the analysis of highly diverse material types and widely varying element concentrations.

PANalytical's innovative 3D XRF spectrometer, the Epsilon 5, provides the analytical solution for a diverse range of materials and has the ability to perform analyses meeting environmental legislation (to ASTM D6052 and ASTM D5839). The instrument combines the benefits of traditional XRF with greatly improved performance for the medium to heavy elements of the periodic table. It supports a diverse array of applications in geology, agriculture, use of fossil and secondary fuels, industrial emissions monitoring, recycling, catalyst production, electronics and electrical appliance manufacture and many others.

The advanced X-ray technology incorporated in the Epsilon 5 has made this XRF instrument a valuable cost-effective alternative to other methods of analysis commonly employed in this industry.
