Loma weighs up HBM load cells
Loma's AS range of checkweighers have been awarded European R51 accreditation for the high accuracy and rapid response demanded by food producers for improved performance and rapid production. The world's most advanced range of checkweighers, they depend on HBM's fast intelligent transducer (FIT) load cells to weigh products at the highest production line rates with extreme accuracy and no performance degradation. Using HBM's digital load cells overcomes the problems of checkweighers fitted with analogue cells where problems occurred such as seal failure resulting in oil leaks and measurement inaccuracies due to thermal instability. Additionally, the weighing range of digital load cells can easily be set by the user - the cell does not need to be pre-calibrated nor require temperature compensation, unlike analogue cells. The checkweigher is designed for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries which means it has to be made from stainless steel and able to withstand intensive wash downs. Using analogue load cells, it was possible that water or chemicals could leak in through the breather vent screw. HBM's FIT load cell is specifically designed for dynamic weighing applications and can make up to 600 measurements per second and the AS checkweigher can weigh both rigid and flexible packs of up to 45kg.
