Beta LaserMike launches first automated ultrasonic measurement system

Beta LaserMike has launched the world's first ultrasonic system with automatic set-up for measuring wall thickness and concentricity in extruded products such as tube and cable. The UltraScan measurement system is the latest addition to Beta LaserMike's line of ultrasonic systems and provides high speed, non-contact measurements in-line. Its ability to measure up to eight different points using ultrasonic transducers means that it can accurately determine the concentricity of large and small products. The UltraScan uses Beta LaserMike's "Snap technology", unique software algorithms which automatically detect, set up and track the ultrasonic signal. The key benefit of this technology is that it eliminates the complex and time consuming process of operator set-up. The system provides substantial benefit to manufacturers of tubing, hoses, cable, and other extruded products by improving product quality, increasing production throughput, and decreasing material costs.
