Servomex launches
high performance oxygen transmitter
The
Xendos 2200 paramagnetic oxygen transmitter from Servomex is the first
process oxygen transmitter for the oxidation control market with multiple
transmitter, single control unit capability and has been specifically
designed for high performance measurements in oxidation control reactions.
The system comprises an oxygen transmitter and a range of control units,
providing measurement solutions for a variety of process control applications
where high performance oxygen measurement is required. Typical applications
include use in process plants in the chemical, industrial gas, petrochemical,
pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. For example, in many petrochemical
processes oxidation reactions typically take place within a pressurised
vessel at high temperatures in the presence of a catalyst. Controlling
the flow rate of oxygen to processes can mean the difference between efficient
conversion of the reaction components or uncontrolled oxidation and reaction
runaway leading to inefficient conversion and, possibly, an explosion.
The Xendos 2200 uses
patented paramagnetic technology which has been proven in the field. Oxygen
is attracted to a magnetic field (paramagnetism), whereas
most other gases are not, so the transmitter has been designed to take
advantage of this paramagnetic property to obtain fast, accurate oxygen
measurements. The benefits of the Xendos 2200 include its durability in
aggressive industrial environments, long-term stability and reliability,
consistent, reproducible measurements, lower maintenance costs and reduced
downtime. The control unit, with its simple graphical user interface,
can control up to six transmitters simultaneously and a full set of diagnostics
information is available that can be used to assist with predictive maintenance.
